Shonda Hendrix

Shonda is an interior designer known for blending creativity, empathy, and hands-on expertise to create spaces where “Creativity Meets Comfort.” She has a talent for balancing beauty with practicality, helping clients design homes that reflect both personality and lifestyle. Whether coordinating custom bedding and draperies, styling accessories, or planning complete renovations, she approaches every project with warmth, vision, and attention to detail.

Her path to interior design began in college while working at a local furniture store, where she discovered a natural eye for accessorizing vignettes with lamps, rugs, and accents. That early spark remained with her throughout the years, growing alongside her love for design and renovation. Before following that passion full-time, she spent 15 years as a medical social worker. This career sharpened her ability to listen deeply, connect with people, and understand what makes a home feel supportive and comfortable.

Today, she continues to draw on her background in social work to bring empathy and collaboration to every project she works on. Clients appreciate her ability to translate their needs into functional, inviting spaces that feel like home.

Her own home and family life also influence her perspective. Married for 26 years and proud mom to a teenage son, she and her husband— a former Marine who now works in the home construction industry—enjoy renovating their historic 1940s cottage in McKinney’s Downtown Historic District. Together, they share a love for restoring character-filled spaces while ensuring they remain livable for modern life.

When she’s not designing, she enjoys antiquing, traveling, tackling home renovation projects, and spending time with friends and family.
